Laboratory of Precision Casting

Laboratory Name : Precision Casting Laboratory
Supervisor : Huang Ho-Yueh
Co-Supervisor : Tsai Pi-Chun
Research Areas : Precision casting refers to manufacturing processes that produce castings with smooth surfaces, accurate dimensions, and complex shapes through specialized casting techniques. This method can significantly reduce the need for complicated machining operations. In Taiwan, precision casting is widely used in the production of golf club heads, hand tools, valves, and other precision components.
In order to help students understand the cleaning processes of castings and become proficient in operating various precision casting tools and equipment, this laboratory was established. Students learn to fabricate ceramic shell molds, perform casting processes, and produce centrifugal castings using silicone molds.
